JAY MENON Currently a radio announcer for Mix-FM, Jay wholly supports POCC for she believes that more awareness on cervical cancer is needed so that women can protect themselves. Our ambassador wants to seize the chance to reach out to a wider audience through her career in the media industry. In her opinion, it is important for her (and all women) to be frank to each other about this disease for it can save many women. Jay’s is currently the ambassador for PUMA and was formerly an ambassador for WTO. She is also an actress for TV shows, host of TV programs and stars in commercials. This popular DJ is also anchoring a weekly football programme. |

PAMELA CHONG “Privileged”, that is how Pamela feels to be appointed a POCC ambassador. Before she goes out and spreads the word, she is determined to learn more about the disease and its preventions. To her, education is tops so that women know their risks and prevention options for cervical cancer does not discriminate against age or race. Pamela came to be known when she emerged second with her sister in the Amazing Race Asia (Season 2). Currently, she is active in dancing, emceeing and notching up hosting credits on Astro’s “Keep It Wild” as well as taking a lead role in a recent successful local film. |

VANESSA CHONG Vanessa is an advocate on education as the foundation to fight cervical cancer. She is honoured to be elected ambassador for she can spread the message in a comfortable manner in order to influence other women to be courageous in speaking out about this disease. Vanessa is half of the combo partnership that won second place in the Amazing Race Asia (season 2) with her sister, Pamela. Besides helping out her brother, Vince Chong’s (winner of Akademi Fantasia 1) career, Vanessa also dabbles in acting. She has filmed local telemovies, a local movie and a hollywood movie. She is a host for events and a VJ for i-amtv Soundcheck- a show which introduces independent bands from all around Asia and aired in the USA on a Filipino channel. |

SIOW HUI MEI Hui Mei is currently an ambassador for World Vision and believes that her election as an ambassador for POCC is another opportunity to play her part in society. With a degree in Mass Communication and a MBA, Hui Mei is now on Astro hosting shows like Ready To Fly, News Talk and VVIP. She also emcees for live events such as CNY Countdown and Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards as well as a part-time host for MY FM. Hui Mei was awarded “The Most Outstanding Malaysian Lady” in media industry by Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd. She is passionate about debates as she founded the Melbourne University debate team while she was there as well as actively participating in debate challenges. |

Genevieve Sambi Genevieve believes in POCC because every woman should know about the risks of cervical cancer and that they are not alone in the fight against it. Since finding out she had cervical cancer and fighting it, she is a survivor who constantly reminds friends to get themselves checked. She believes that no woman should have to go through what she did. As a professional, she holds a BSc. Hons in Business Management from Kings College London and a degree from the London College of Fashion. She has been a model for 20 years, based in KL but has also worked in the UK, New York, Los Angeles, Japan and Thailand. She was 1st runner up Miss Malaysia World and Miss Malaysia Universe. She is an Emcee, Tv host and has done numerous television commercials. Gen is married to her husband of 15 years and has 2 beautiful children, Isabella and Alexander. On a personal level, Gen’s motto is “Do what you want to do because life is too short. Never have any regrets.” |

RINA OMAR This well known bubbly TV host and producer first learned about cervical cancer when she was pursuing her studies in university. A close friend of hers was diagnosed with this deadly disease at a tender age of 21 and upon this realisation she came to understand the importance of early detection. Ever since then, she has been encouraging those around her to go for screening as a preventive measure against cervical cancer. Having to be elected as a POCC ambassador, she is advocating for women to be in the driver’s seat, steering towards knowing more about the disease and the power they have over it. Though taking a break from TV, she is still involved in several TV projects as a freelance director/writer. This young woman is also passionate about wildlife conservation, having to be involved in MyCat to WFF and most recently, Earth Hour, a global initiative to increase awareness about global warming. When she’s not on TV or educating people about cervical cancer or fighting for wildlife conservation, this chilli padi will be seen in events, hyping up the crowd as an emcee and even teaching kids about reptiles! |

SARIMAH IBRAHIM TV Presenter. Emcee. Model. Actress. Singer Born in Dublin, Ireland, Sarimah Ibrahim is known as Malaysia’s most versatile television host. Sarimah started her career in 1996 as a TV model, modeling for brands such as Clairol shampoo, Ribena, Redtone and Laurier to name a few. In 1997, she got her international break as a host on Astro’s Disney Channel. Her career begun skyrocketing in 1997 where she continued to model in various print and TV commercials while hosting numerous entertainment shows and events such as NTV7’s RIM chart show, Entertainment Now, Political Talk show Malaysia 2020, Malaysia’s highest rated reality show Akademi Fantasia season 6 and 7 and live awards shows Juara Lagu 2003 and 2005. Sarimah went on to star in a number of local movies including Puteri impian 2 (1998), Janji Diana (2003), and Gerak Khas the Movie 3 (2005). Sarimah released an album in 2002 named ‘Sarimah’ where her songs were spotted on Top 10 charts on Hitz Fm, Era FM and RedFM. Her video clip for her hit ‘Kini Kau Tiada’ topped the charts on MTV Asia. She has been appointed ambassador for Lexmark (2002), Ribena, Loreal Colour For Life Campaign, National Geographic Channel – Celebrity Guest Host for National Geographic Top 30 Documentaries, and most recently Earth hour 2009. Sarimah’s well-know talent and personality has won her several awards and numerous award nominations. Her accolades include the GLAM Magazine ‘Malaysia’s 20 Most Glamourous 2007, Anugerah Skrin 2005 - Best TV Entertainment Show Presenter 2005, Anugerah Media Hiburan Best Television Presenter 2003, Anugerah Industri Music Best New Artist 2001, Anugerah ERA Most Hopeful New Artist 2001, FHM Most Sexiest woman in the world list (2001) and Eh! Magazine 20 Most Gorgeous People (1999). On top of her busy schedule, Sarimah is currently completing her B.A. in Psychology and was also recently appointed as the host of the inaugural Asian-edition of the popular US reality television programme, The Biggest Loser Asia. The inspirational weight-loss reality show is slated to be aired on the Hallmark Channel all over Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India this November. |

NIKI CHEONG As an avid blogger and social media practitioner, Niki lends his support to bring the message of cervical cancer prevention to the masses, especially in the digital sphere. Niki is a full-time journalist with The Star and authors a column The Bangsar Boy. Niki’s strong interest in social media has brought him to giving talks on blogging, Twitter and the role of social media in journalism. He also organised Malaysia’s largest Tweet-up called Twestival KL, which raised over RM11, 000 for charity. His other passion includes performing arts and running, among others. YVONNE FOONG Author of the book “I’m not sick, just a bit unwell”, Yvonne lives each day with optimism, despite having to deal with a rare genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis Type 2.
